How can I make the name of the document appear on the title bar with

I don't know that you can. But one thing you can do is to enable the
Load URL box in the Standard toolbar, which (according to the help text)
"Loads a document specified by an entered URL. You can type a new URL or
select one that is already registered. OpenOffice.org automatically
converts file paths into URL notation." A side effect of this is that
it displays the file path of the current file, including the extension -
but you see only as much as will fit into the window! (I don't see that
you can resize the window.)
To enable this:
o Click the down-arrow at the extreme right of the Standard toolbar.
o Select Visible Buttons >.
o Put a tick by Load URL.
OpenOffice's components have separate toolbar settings, so you will need
to do this separately for Writer, Calc, and so on - if that is what you
need.
I trust this helps.

Thanks. It takes some real estate, i. e. all the available, but in the
dropdown list you can see the full path of all recent documents. I am
wondering, though, if it is that difficult to provide the option to
display the path on the title bar...
