This is just the latest effort. ALL efforts to use all posted stuff
found to date to connect have failed.
I am not sure what you are really asking in your long email, but,
when you say that you can not connect, were you trying to connect
from your local computer, or from an external computer? If only from
an external computer, then try it from the same computer to see if
that matters.

On same computer. As in off-net stand alone.
I start scalc - per posted statements. Then run Python script(s).
Am using posted How-To code. (Adding/modifying the obvious if needed)
Nothing connects to the running scalc. Most code blows up. The rest
simply fail - period. If any of them work on somebody's system, "the
rest of the story" wasn't told.
System: Slackware 10.2 on a 2.4 GigHz laptop. OpenOffice >2.0

Hmm... I asked because there was an issue with how you specified things
while starting that may make it refuse connections from "other"
computers, but it would work from the same computer. I wrote and ran a
simple test program some time ago, just to see if I could make it work...

??"other" computers?? I re-read my posting and don't see where this
came from. Another's reply that I somehow missed perhaps.
I took the time to check the links attached in the signature area. I did
not find Python specific items but I'll try again soon. I did find some
items of interest but not currently on point. Was the test program you
wrote written in StarBasic or Python? I was searching on Python. I'll
try again soon. My plate is filling up fast this week.
Anyone else reading this - original posting was Sept. 5, 2008. At least
that is what my (received) logs show.
