Instead of CDs, why not keep copies of it on a USB flash drive, like I do. I maintain a selection of open source apps, such as OO, Firefox and others on a USB flash drive that I carry with me. That way I can install the software for them.
If you use the [free] versions from www.portableapps.com you don't have to install anything. Windows only but their software runs directly off the USB drive if you want. It doesn't affect (infect ?) the host system at all. Of course you can copy the files to the system's hard disk and run from there for extra speed but it still doesn't touch the Registry or install DLLs in Windows's directories. No, I have no connection with the organisation other than as a satisfied "customer".

I am well aware of the portableapps version and use it to demo OO. However, my point was about installing it on someone's computer, without making and giving away CDs.
