I'm using Windows XP.  How do I give myself permission to backup?

Which OS? I will guess windows of some description. You have to give
yourself permission to save in the directory where your personal copy of
OOo is located. This could be under C:\Programs and Files
\OpenOffice.org1.1\user\backup. XP is similar.
