Hello Karen, I don't knwo whether you looked for solutions on the Mac porting pages of OpenOffice.org: http://porting.openoffice.org/mac Shaun from the Mac porting team had this solution (I hope it still works): X11 Time out solution: http://shaunmcdonald131.blogspot.com/2008/03/ooo-possible-fix-for-command-timed- out.html Personally, I dumped the X11 version of OOo almost completely... The work on a version for Mac without this X11 intermediary is almost finished: a release candidate of OOo 3.0.0 Aqua is available at GoodDay: http://ooopackages.good-day.net/pub/OpenOffice.org/MacOSX/3.0.0rc1/ I don't know if you have a PowerPc Mac or an Intel one. The names of English US versions end with install.dmg, if you prefer another language, take your pick. The Aqua works fine for me, but sometimes you come up to some problem and the program may quit. That's why it isn't finished yet. So saving your work regularly is a must. success! -- Guy using dutch OOo Aqua 3.0.0 RC1 on a iMac Intel DualCore Tiger and brazilian OOo Aqua 3.0.0 RC1 on an Intel MacBook Pro Leopard -- please reply only to [email protected] -- Dodoes can't afford to have headaches
