You could try this. Set your outbound email address temporarily to be
[EMAIL PROTECTED], then email [EMAIL PROTECTED]

This should - assuming I understand the workings here - result in a
confirmation message being sent to that address. From what you say,
this will eventually land up in your mailbox, and you should be able
to email the confirmation that's needed to complete the process.

But don't forget to restore your 'proper' address.
