This is resolved in OOo3RC3 which should appear on the
http://download.openoffice.org/680/ page in a day or two. You can now
transfer your existing user settings (without a crash) to OOo3RC3.
However the extensions will not be transfered so you will need to
reinstall your previous extensions.
