Hi
I have just installed OOo 3.0 rc3 on a machine running Ubuntu 8.04.
When I started the program and opened a blank writer document I got the
following errors
Error loading Basic of document
file:///opt/openoffice.org/basis3.0/share/basic/Launcher/script.xlb
General Error
General input/output error
This was repeated for dialog.xlb
I traced the error fix to

I could not find the extension easily but eventually when I uninstalled
the PDF import extension the errors displayed themselves on the
uninstall. I then reinstalled the extension and the errors did not reappear.
It seems as if there is a possible problem with extensions surviving
from release 2.4.1 to release 3.0 without reinstalling the extensions.
