I often use Paste Special to copy formats: I select a portion of text which
is in the format I want and the use Paste Special to apply that format to
the new text I wish to format.
As you know, the steps are:
1. Select text to be copied
2. Copy text (Ctrl+C)
3. Select text to be formatted
4. Go to EDIT (or right click) and select Paste Special
5. Make sure that only 'Format" is being pasted (and not strings ... etc.)
6. Click OK on the Paste Special dialogue box and it is done!
However, particularly when editing an older document, using OOo 1.1.4 (but
document may be created with an earlier version like 1.1.3 or 1.1), when I
get to Step 4. (above) and click on Paste Special, instead of getting the
Paste Special dialogue box with options to paste ALL or choose which
attributes I want to paste (like format), I get a different dialogue box
which has the following options to choose from:
OpenOffice.org writer
Rich Text Format
HTML
Unformatted
DDE Link
Can someone please tell me what is going on here?
Many thanks, James Elliott
