I import sdg files into my /share/gallery folder. For example, I have
OOo 2.4.1 installed in my home directory:

/home/<username>/OOo241/opt/openoffice.org2.4/share/gallery

I then set my gallery path (Tools|Options|Open...|Paths|Gallery to that
directory/folder. You can set alternate/added paths, but OOo will always
take the selected path; in other words, you can't set multiple paths.

Regarding the http://lautman.net/mark/coo/index.html shapes; those are
SVG vector drawings. In order for you to create a special theme for them
you'd need to break out each drawing into individual files and save them
in a non-SVG format that OOo Gallery can read
(*.bmp;*.dxf;*.emf;*.eps;*.gif;*.jpg;*.jpeg;*.jfif;*.jif;*.met;*.pbm;*.pcd;*.pct;*.pcx;*.pgm;*.png;*.ppm;*.psd;*.ras;*.sgf;*.sgv;*.svm;*.tga;*.tif;*.tiff;*.wmf;*.xbm;*.xpm;*.aif;*.aiff;*.au;*.avi;*.cda;*.mid;*.midi;*.mp2;*.mp3;*.mpa;*.mpg;*.mpeg;*.mpv;*.mp4;*.ogg;*.mov;*.viv;*.wav)
then place those in a subfolder (MyShapes perhaps). Then create the
theme 'MyShapes' and 'Add' the files.

Perhaps if you were to contact Mark Lautman, he might be able to provide
the shapes in individual formats/files that could be used to import into
the gallery.
