Thanks for the response.
That is what I was thinking I would have to do, but it just seemed strange to
me that there was not a script or mechanism included to do the job for the user
who is not familiar with dpkg or apt at the command line. Normally when an
application comes in multiple debs there is a "core" or "main" deb that is
defined as the dummy package which calls the other debs required by the
application, and then installs them in whatever order is required, if a special
order is necessary.
I never installed any of the 3.0 betas, so uninstalling them is not an issue.
I have a couple additional questions. The folder is arranged as follows:

Note that all of them are labeled "amd64" except the sole one located in the
desktop-integration folder. If I do not tell dpkg to install with a recursive
switch that one won't be installed. What does this deb do? Why is it in a
separate folder?
Also, from previous discussion on the subject of installing 3.0, I understand
that it is supposed to ask if I want to migrate my 2.4.1 settings and if I want
to replace 2.4.1 or keep it. So if I install with dpkg -i *.deb, at what point
will that option come up?
