When I put equations inline in OOo 2.4 I have large (~10px) margins on the left and right sides of the equations. Often I need those equations to butt right up against whatever precedes/follows it. How can those margins / padding be eliminated?

There are two lots of spacing: some outside the formula frame and some inside.

To reduce spacing outside the frame:
o Select the frame.
o Go to Format | Frame... | Wrap | Spacing (or right-click | Object... | Wrap | Spacing). (I need to deselect the frame and then reselect it to get the correct context menu to appear.)
o Reduce the Left or Right values.

To reduce spacing inside the frame:
o Double-click on the formula to enter edit mode.
o Go to Format | Spacing... .
o Under Category, choose Borders from the drop-down menu.
o Reduce the Left or Right values.

(This is with version 3, but I imagine it is similar in your 2.4.)

I trust this helps.
