You have left out too many variables.
How many fields (columns in a spreadsheet) are there in the program you
are replacing? The more columns the more likely that a database would be
better.
How many entries are you holding of telephone/address? More entries the
better the fit for a database.
Suggestion. If you can download the data from the old software into a
csv or txt file, you could try and see what it looks like in both and
make a decision from there.
