When you launch it you now get a splash screen that offers you various buttons - open a new writer document, etc. If I resize the splash screen window OOo remembers and launches the splash screen the same size the next time. And from that point on all new windows are opened in the same size as the splash screen. Kind of unintuitive, but at least I have solved the problem. _____
