I would suggest running tests and saving the forms, etc. on a CDR for
portability and ease and testing the compatibility of the various
versions of office to see if you end up with corrupt formatting. 1.4
does have a few Excel formatting issues along with Word. Haven't gotten
around to 2.0 tests on our machines yet. Good Luck and have a happy
memorial day weekend.

I have started trying out the base component of open office 2.
Does the base component support sharing of data and such amongst

Please be more specific in your question. Are you talking about
sharing data in a network or several people using the same computer
with different personal setups? We need to know what kind of setup
you have and what your specifically want to do.
Dan
You are quite correct in that I needed to explain more. (Haven't
had the first cup of coffee yet)
I am pleased to see that Open Office now has a database program. A
customer of mine is using DataEase (which is a database system).
This system is costly and not too flexible. I am considering
porting over the data, macros, forms, and such to the new OpenOffice
Base component. One of the things the customer wants to do is share
the data, forms, and such amongst the different machines attached to
the LAN. They use various flavors of Windows on their machines.
So, what I am asking is, can the data, forms, and such be shared
amongst the various machines on the LAN?
You know Scott, the dba project may be a better bet than users. Without
looking at your code, I will guess that the answer is yes you can do
that but ...
So I am copying [email protected] so look there for answers too.
That would be the better area I would think. I looked on the Open
Office web site for such but have not yet found a link to subscribe.
Thanks,
Scott
