I am grading student papers mostly submitted in *.doc from Office 2003 but with the occasional 1997--2002 *.doc or 2007 *.docx file. I edit and comment on them in OOo then save them to *.doc (even the *.docx files). OOo has completely stuffed the layout of one file and occasionally indents, particularly in table cells, are 'adjusted'. But so far, so good, as my then three-year-old daughter replied when a waiter, putting on side, asked 'And is madam enjoying the meal?'
Has anyone had suicidal thoughts after working on Word files and saving them in Word? War stories please ...
