Hi all I was put onto Open Office by our IT Manager and am now using it on my new
laptop. I'm very impressed with it and it is streets ahead of the Microsoft
equivalent.

One question? Is there an extension for Open Office that allows you to install an office
assistant such as the one I had on Office 2003. I loved the Rocky Dog on my
desktop and miss having him around!

If anyone can help I would be grateful. Many thanks and regards Simon Newitt
Simon,

Clippy was the bane of my existence. I'd start something and there it was, saying, "It looks like your are trying to ..." and asking to help, but I already knew how to do all it could tell me and didn't need it on top of where I needed to type.

But I loved the cat avatar's purr. But unfortunately, I used the version provided by the University which had only Clippy. I killed him.

Seriously, I appreciate your inquiry. I have not heard of any such assistant other than help that used to show up in another window when you use certain features of OO.o.

If an effective interactive office assistant with a cat (or a dog) avatar were available, I'd consider using it too.

David
