In version 2.0 and later, the default file type was changed to the ISO
standard ODF formats, which versions prior to 1.1.5 don't understand. 
You can save in the old formats (sxw, sxc etc.) or upgrade those systems
to a newer version.  If they don't have the resources to install version
2 or 3, you can update to version 1.1.5, which is the last of the 1.x
versions and can read, but not write the new formats.
