Hello Simon, OpenOffice.org can keep a backup and do autosave, if you ask it to. See Tools>Options>Load/Save>General and check the "Make backup copy (3th option) and the AutoSave, with the frequency you want the autosaves to be made. The location of these files you determine in Tools>Options>OpenOffice.org>Paths There's backups and temporary files. It may be wise to make a special OOo-tmp folder, so that copies of your files are not accidentally thrown away when you exit OOo (or close your computer) A recent thread on this list reported problems with the autosave. If I understood correctly, when you use the recover option after a crash, it goes back to the last manually saved copy, not the (more recent) autosave. So it seems wise to save regularly on OOo 3.0.0, till this bug is solved. -- Guy using dutch OOo Aqua 3.0.0 on a iMac Intel DualCore Tiger and brazilian OOo Aqua 3.0.0 on an Intel MacBook Pro Leopard -- please reply only to [email protected] -- Dodoes can't afford to have headaches
