Hello Beatrix, To make files that people with MS Word can open, you have to save them in *.doc format. You can either do • File > Save As and chose File Type > Microsift Word 97/2000/XP (and uncheck hide extension) • Send > Send as MS Word doc - this should put a .doc version of your file in a mail message of your default mail client (preferably Mail, as OOo 3.0;0 doesn't seem to work yet with any email client...) alternative: send teh file as a PDF (if destinatary doesn't need to work on it) either • use the icon in the Standard toolbar • File > Export as PDF • Send > Send as PDF (via Mail etc.) For the moment, OOo can read files made with MS Office 2007, 2008... (docx, xlsx etc), but it cannot yet save in this closed format. HTH
