Which means I don't have access to the text in any way ?
One of the problem I have is that I am looking for a way to export
Impress files contents to text and there seem to be no filter for that
in the save options. A solution would be to put everything in Outline
view and select the displayed text etc.. But is no text displays then I
have a problem :)

the text not showing in outline is probaly placed on the slide using
the text tool instead of beeing written in the Outline textbox (the
main text block from the master template)
