Does anybody know of any tools, utilities or other plug-ins (add-ons) for OpenOffice.org to aid indexing? The provided dialogue is clumsy, not intuitive, and slow. Unfortunately a search on Google for
indexing +(openoffice|openoffice.org) +(plugins|plug ins|addons|add ons)
doesn't work because Google thoughtfully stems 'indexing' back to 'index', so that you get thousands of hits to advice on how to use the built-in dialogue. Curses!
I have tried indexing the document using an ancient version of Word (c. 2002) and it's not much better. At least you can embed an {XE ..} field in the text but that too is slow as it uses a modal dialogue that closes after every entry. Grrrrr!
