This is not good news at all, from our perspective. I > mean, why would we want authors to have access to a bezillion formats > we don't want them to use? What is the sense of trying to hide styles? Do you want to prevent them to use direct formatting as well? Educating in combination with a custom menu or toolbar, with the preferred styles might help a bit. OTOH, the select styles box, left on the toolbar formatting, already offers a limited number of styles. So I do not really understand what you aim for or the objection is. Kindest regards, Cor --------------------------------------------------------------------- The goal/desire is to implement true, template-based authoring, where the authors indeed select only from a predesigned set of styles and nothing else ... and also where all the other manual formatting stuff is turned off. That's the only way to create a set of uniform publications over time and consisting of many documents. This is not a training issue at all, it's a standards issue. This entire paradigm was always outside the scope of MS Office, so it does not surprise me to find the same paradigm absent from OO. Hope this explanation helps.
