Ok, I sorted myself out. Digging around the www.zotero.org site I found the
Zotero Openoffice extension and downloaded and installed it. I'm running
Debian Lenny (testing) 2.6.26 with Openoffice3 using KDE3.5.9. It
definitely shows up on the Toolbar in the upperlefthand corner just below
the File Edit View Insert menus. It's hard to spot at first but passing the
cursor over it shows the icon labels "Insert Citation", "Edit Citation" and
so forth. I'm running a 32bit version of Debian. Everything seems to work
fine on my system.
Hope this helps.
