I was not aware many people were having trouble with this setup. The main problem I have had is that the program can't always be killed when it crashes, and of course, it does crash. However, Activity Monitor will kill the job cleanly.
Everything else seems to be pretty comparable to what I had been doing in M$ Office, but OO 3 has a big plus in charting in that you can do fractional log charts. In Office they have to go 1, 10, 100, etc. A lot of the time I want to do something like 13-47. I had to use Harvard Charts to do this with Office on a Windows machine. OTOH, Harvard Charts allowed me easily to put two charts on the same page. Neither Excel nor OO 3 seem to be able to do that. I believe I can probably copy and paste two charts into a Text Document, but I haven't had the time to play with that. The other hang-up I have with OO 3 is getting dates on a chart. The program wants to do its own thing not my thing. Apparently this is a known problem that may be fixed. I sure hope so. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [email protected] For additional commands, e-mail: [email protected]
