Glad you decided to stay.
The OOo community is a far cry from dealing with the large corporate
vendors whose sole motivation is to separate you from as much of your
money as they can in as short a time as possible. Also, every answer
you receive to any inquiry is from people who truly want to help solve
your problem; unlike too many "help" desks where the people you talk to
are knowledgeable to the extent of the troubleshooting tree they can
view on _their_ computer and who are doing the job only for the money.
Incidentally, you'll find lots of experience, tips and help here on the
list for Master Documents. Can't do much about your boss and the
deadline, but we can surely get you past the rough spots quickly.
