When I open the start page of Writer (blank page) the default setting for the alignment of text is left. As a matter of fact, I like the alignment of my documents to be justified. Is there a mean to instruct Writer once and for all to start with this kind of alignment without having to create a model document ?

I'm afraid there often isn't a way to do something if you rule out doing it the very way that works! Are you ruling out creating a new default template? I don't see why.

o Open new text document.
o Select Justified alignment.
o Go to File | Templates > | Save..., give your new template a name, and click OK to save it. o Now go to File | Templates > | Organize..., browse to your new template, and click Commands | Set As Default Template.

In future, when you create a new text document it will have the alignment you want.

I trust this helps.
