Compared to what? To OOo 1.1.5? Or OOo 2.4.2? OOo 3.0 may be buggy. But it not more buggy than other OOo version. And for shure it's less buggy than OOo 1.1.5. Please be careful with such statements. You just unsettle potential OOo users.

It is well known that version 3.0.0 is more buggy than other recent versions, as with many version zero releases from many products.

Well known? It is just a rumor. It has just bugs. As every software has bugs.

Be
honest with clients. If someone is testing a product, they deserve to be told what they are getting. For example, I believe the password setting was included in “Save As” in all previous versions, and will be included again in version 3.0.1. But it does not appear in version 3.0.0.

A would-be user has no reason to be unsettled. They can use 2.4.2, as I suggested, or just wait for 3.0.1, or use 3.0.0, knowing that it isn’t as stable as some other releases. (I am using 3.0.0 myself.)

Or they wait for OOo 3.1. Or 3.1.1. Or 3.2. And so on. As long as there are bugfix version OOo is unstable?

Not to tell users this would be dishonest.

To be "honest" like this helps nobody.

So you think that a user who want's to download OOo there must be a hint that this software might be buggy? That's at least the the consequence of your warning. That is honest!?
