Not really in 2.4 which I still use I can insert them as objects, but
this is very cumbersome though.

Definitely what I have in mind is the following.

Given a writer document, the user sets the page break individually and
then converts the odt document to impress such that each page
corresponds to one slide. (One has to fiddle a little around I am sure.)

Given that the converter should then also be able to transform a given
odp document to an writer document. 

I wonder why this is not implemented (MS Office does have that neither.)
