Hi,
you can use Insert/Field/Other (or Ctrl+F2). You'll find the date in the
'Type' list of the 'Document' page.
You can select the appropriate number format in the 'Format' list. If
that is not enough there's an 'Additional formats...' entry at the end
of that list.
