I eventually went with the DTK graphic... I was hoping to overlay it
on the map of Australia that I was using as the picture, but I couldn't
work out transparency in Draw (or GIMP for that matter) so I printed
the puzzle outline on the back of each sheet.

I discovered the nice feature of OO in being able to print the one
graphic over multiple pages in Draw. I was going to settle for A3 but
my wife said "make it bigger." So I set the paper size to A1 and the
printer paper size to A3 and Draw just nicely printed it over 4 A3
pages. Nice!

When we put it all together we found the original map left out Tasmania
(the little island off the bottom of Australia- probably just offended
both the Tasmanians on the list :) ) So I had to find another map just
of Tasmania and print it to scale.

The purpose of all of this? In church on Sunday evening we are
celebrating Australia Day which falls on Monday. I'm going to give each
person a piece of the puzzle. During the service I will ask them to
write a brief prayer for the nation or the part of it that's on their
piece and then we will put them together to make the map.

Thanks to Wade and others that made suggestions.
