Hello Don, I work with OpenOffice.org 3.0 on Intel Macs as well as on a PPC G4 PowerBook. OOo 3 doesn't need X11 any more, so it's a lot less cumbersome, but the first start takes always a bit longer because it's an integrated suite, you load Writer as well as Calc as well as Base as well as Impress in one go. I don't see OOo 3.0.0 for PPC at the main page ( http://download.openoffice.org/other.html#en-US) maybe because there weren't enough people to test it, but you can always find a working copy at good-day: I advise you to install the OOo 3.0.1 RC2 that fixes some bugs from the 3.0.0 (the first to work natively on Mac, without X11). http://ooopackages.good-day.net/pub/OpenOffice.org/MacOSX/3.0.1rc2/ look for the PowerPC further down the list, US-english is the one without language specification: http://ooopackages.good-day.net/pub/OpenOffice.org/MacOSX/3.0.1rc2/OOo_3.0.1rc2_MacOSXPowerPC_install.dmg (link may be broken in two lines to fit on your screen) If it doesn't work, come back here with specific questions. HTH -- Guy using dutch OOo Aqua 3.0.1 on a iMac Intel DualCore Leopard and brazilian OOo Aqua 3.0.0 on an Intel MacBook Pro Leopard -- please reply only to [email protected] -- Dodoes can't afford to have headaches
