Thank you Brian,
I guess OOo treats breaks little bit differently though the functions
are same.
I will look into what you said and make myself bit more familiar to writer.

I wonder if there is a way to display "manual page/section breaks"
visible like Microsoft Word.
There are two questions here, and the answers are different. Unlike
Microsoft Word, OpenOffice Writer does not have section breaks, only
sections. And the beginning and end of sections are indicated (by
default) by light grey lines.
It would be nice if I could identify there are manual breaks inserted
in document.
As the help text says of manual page breaks, "[t]he inserted page break
is indicated by a nonprinting border at the top of the new page." This
is in the form of a faint but significant (by default) dark blue line.
You will have missed this until it has been drawn to your attention, but
it is easy to see once you know what to look for. Column breaks are
indicated similarly.
The presence and colour of such indicators can be configured at Tools |
Options... | OpenOffice.org | Appearance.
I trust this helps.
