When I copy and paste to a blank OpenOffice 1.1.4 text document, the text is in
a box (I can see it, but it doesn't print out) that creates problems:
1. When I paste a second portion below the first on the same page, only the
bottom paste prints out, not both pastes.
2. When I paste a document that is more than one page, only the last page of
text gets pasted in. The pages above it remain blank.
How do I get rid of this text box to solve the above?

You are copying and pasting more than just text ...
Try Edit|Paste Special and than plain text or one of the other options.
