Hello, OpenOffice.org must be closed before you install a newer version (as is the case with many other programs...). OOo doesn't provide incremental updates, a newer version replaces the older one (but you keep prefs etc.). Double click on the .dmg to install, drag OOo to your Applications folder as indicated, to replace the older version. Which version do you have on your computer (and what OS and type of Mac? Tiger/Leopard - PPC/Intel). Where did you receive the update from? OOo is actually at version 3.0.1 and you download it from www.openoffice.org. If you can't find the version you need (language, or PowerPC), send a message to this list.
