mozilla:s filter handling..

Hi All,
I have a small request regarding replies to unsubscribed users. Could
you reply to the list and cc the user, rather than cc'ing the list? It's
a small point, but my mail filters miss the replies that are cc'd to the
list. Not a big deal, since it's only two or three per week.

I believe you are using mozilla to read/write mail.
Did you know that you can add your own headers to filter by?
for example, right now I think you are filtering on the To: field
by opening up the filterdialog and click on the To: field of your
filter, you get a list of things you can filter on, at the bottom of
this list there is a special entry (sorry only have the norwegian
version of mozilla, don't know what it says), clicking on this will
bring up a new dialog where you can add your own headers that you weant
mozilla to be able to search for.
for example looking at the headers for your mail I see the following
headers (these are not all headers)
--------------------------------
Mailing-List: contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]; run by ezmlm
list-help: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
list-unsubscribe: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
list-post: <mailto:[email protected]>
From: Anthony Chilco <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
To: [email protected]
--------------------------------
if you for example add in that dialog list-post, accept it, and closes
the dialog, you will now have in the dropdownlist a list-post entry
which you can use to match with instead.
I got for this mailing list only the filter
list-post contains [email protected]
that's it, nothing more is needed for the filter to work.
now the sender can put this mailing list in the to: cc: or even the bcc:
field when sending, it does not matter sicne it is the mailing-list
server that adds the list-post header to all mail it sends out to it's
subscribers.
