I have only updated my workstation to version 3 and the other machines in the office use 2.4. I can now open a file from the file server and edit this file while it is being worked on at another work station causing serious issues on the final document.

Could that be a server issue?
It seems to me that the server is the one that controls
that type of stuff.  At least it was when I was dealing
with servers.
