I know that and I set it under "Tool-Options" but I have had to make a
change, mark up all the text, set it under "Format" into German-German and
when I change it to German-Austria the spell check won't work and I'm very
dissapointed about it, if I would programm that way no one of my programms
would see a pixle (hehe).

somehow the dictionary for old german spelling in OO.3.0.1 don't want
to work in the new release although I deinstalled the ugly new german

You can have multiple dictionaries installed without clash (although
too many slows things down).
Did you set your chosen dictionary in "Tools - Options" ( under
"Language settings" from Memory)
Lastly old dictionaries that worked with 2.X will not work on 3.X
