I pasted an image in OOo Draw and cropped it. Now I want to save
to image as jpg, so, while the image is selected, I click File >
Export..., and select JPEG as file format. The result, however, is
that the whole page is saved, not just the image. How can I save
only the image and not the rest of the blank page around it?
Right-click on the image and select Save as Picture... .
I trust this helps.
Thanks. Now there is a further problem: After cropping an image, how
do I save the cropped image _only_?
I thought that was the problem that had been solved as above - but
evidently not. Sorry!
It appears that cropping a picture in Draw just alters the way that
it is displayed and not the embedded graphic, with the result that
saving it immediately saves the original version, as you imply. I
think you just need to force Draw actually to perform the edit you
have required, and there may be many ways of doing this. A simple way is:
o Select the picture.
o Go to Edit | Cut (or right-click | Cut or Ctrl+X).
o Go to Edit | Paste Special... (or Ctrl+Shift+V).
o In the Paste Special dialogue, select Bitmap (or possibly other options).
o Now use right-click | Save as Picture... (as before).
I trust this helps (more).
