Hi Harold,

on the weekend I also tried a Nokia . The link you sent was a good
indication that maybe it works with Nokia; will have to find a Nokia to
try first.

I have an older Sony-Ericsson 750i. It attaches like a usb device on
OpenSUSE 10.3, and I can download and upload data at will, without any
software. The Nokia is a Symbian OS, but it was not recognised as the
Sony-Ericsson was.

Does anyone know of a good smartphone that works with Linux for syncing
and data management (like accessing it as an usb device) that needs a
minimum of software? NO M$ devices.

I also have a Palm Treo 680. It does not work properly with things like
kpilot and KitchenSync for Linux etc, a disaster - Palm. pity; nice devices.
