I am using OpenOffice 1.1.4 on RedHat SuSe Linux 9.1.
I am doing an OpenOffice tutorial on styles and using
the Format - Stylist option, but I cant manage to
delete Heading 1, or any style. The Backspace key
doesnt work either. I am using a normal 102-key
keyboard. I did a Tufftest keyboard text, and it
turned out fine, so something tells me it it is
something to do with OpenOffice Formatting

I see the problem.
You cannot delete the default styles, like Heading 1 for instance.
What you can do is make custom styles and in the bottom of the stylist
(Styles & Formatting Window) there is a drop down box and you can select
Custom Styles and only the styles you have created will display.

What you can do is create your own custom styles and in the bottom of
