BTW, although it worked fine for me under OSX 10.3.9, I was never able
to get the X11 "sudo nano" etc. command (which the instructions
prescribe for getting the X11 window to quit appearing every time OO
launches) to work. Once I upgraded to Leopard, I switched to OO
3.0.1rc2 (available at http://ooopackages.good-day.net/pub/OpenOffice.org/MacOSX/3.0.1rc2/)
. It does not require X11 and is, I think, a much better program.
