First, I am no longer subscribed so please cc me on any response.

My employer, rightfully concerned about network security, is in the
process of blocking and removing "unsupported" software. This action is
fully understandable when viewed from a security standpoint. However,
individual exceptions will be granted where the exception is either
essential to the business activity or is significantly beneficial to the
company.

I have been asked to provide a justification to continue my use of Open
Office.

I am able to cite a number incidents where OOo has saved corrupted MS
Word documents, allowed for rapid creation of drawings, royalty free
generation of PDFs, and several other examples.

What I would like to have some help with is verifiable information
concerning the security of OOo (particularly compared to MS Word).
