OpenOffice.org isn't exactly the same as MSO...
You can copy cells with Edit > Fill > Down (or Right or Up...)
Or you can use the Ctrl (Shift-Ctrl) key together with the mouse.

If you want, you can assign actions or macros to key combinations to emulate
the functioning you (or people in your network) are used to.
