I know what you are saying.

The easiest way if you do not have an empty paragraph below the table is
to:
1. Copy the table ([ctrl]+[c])
2. Delete the table (table > delete > table)
3. Insert all the paragraphs you like ([enter][enter][enter])
4. Paste the table back where you want it ([ctrl]+[v])
