OpenOffice.org (not Sun Microsystems itself) uses two kinds of
registration. The first, part of the installation process, just tells
OOo that you are a user; it has no effect on your use of OOo or this
list, and can safely be ignored. The other, activated from the website
for OOo (www.openoffice.org), allows you to log in and participate in
the various forums, report bugs, and so on; again, it is not
specifically needed for any normal OOo operations or use of this list.
If these are not the registration and login you are referring to, you
may either have no need for them, or have to communicate with somebody
at Sun Microsystems or some vendor of a different version of openoffice
to determine how to do what you need.
