Dear Users:
I want to install Open Office and uninstall MS Office. Will my Word documents be able to be opened by non-Open Office people if I accept all file extensions during the Open Office download.
Very important to me as the file I need other pople to open is my resume and I
ned a new job.
Thanks for your help.
Sincerely

Both MS Office and OpenOffice.org can co-exist happily on the same
computer. If you "save as" MS Office your other people should have no
trouble opening your file. Be sure the automatic file name extension
box is checked.
The conversion is not 100 percent accurate, but it is pretty close.
Unless you are using macros or very complicated layout the file should
be fine.
You can configure OpenOffice.org to save to MS Office format by default.
As a test, why not use OpenOffice.org to create your document in MS
Office format then open it with your MS Office and then you can see if
it looks satisfactory for your purpose.
