Thanks. I had missed that option. BTW, what does [M] and [T] stand for?
Alternatively (and if you prefer to leave these options ticked), note
that when you type something and see an automatic correction, Writer has
done two things: the change you want followed by the correction you
don't. Since it sees these as two separate operations, you can easily
undo the correction but keep what you do want by immediately using Edit
| Undo (or Ctrl+Z).

Thanks also for clarifying the Writer's actions. I have been using the
Undo, but was not entirely sure if hadn't missed something in the process.
