Three ways come to mind.
To be able to open the OOo document in Word 2003
- In OOo save the document as a Word document. It will then be possible
to open it in Word. The following needs to be done in OOo
1. Open the document in OOo
2. select "File | Save As..."
3. select the file type "97/2000/XP (.doc)" as the file type
4. make certain the "automatic extensions" option is selected
5. click "Save" to save the file
refer to
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Documentation/OOo3_User_Guides/Writer_Guide/Writer_documentsfor
details. Scroll to near the bottom of page for instructions with
illustration how to save in Word format.
- Install the Sun ODF plugin in Word 2003 so it can read and write the
ODF format
1. refer to http://www.sun.com/software/star/odf_plugin/index.jsp to get
the plugin and instructions.
2. NOTE: you need administrator access to the computer that has Word to
install the plugin
- If you don't need to edit the document on the computer that has Word
then use OOo to make a PDF.
1. Open the document in OOo
2. select "File | Export as PDF"
3. click "Export"
