Came this utterance formulated by Walter Hildebrandt to my mailbox:

using 3.0 with WindowsXP. There is a PDF file on my desktop that I
would like to copy the contents into a OOo Writer file and be able to
edit the contents in the OOo Writer file. Can this be done?

PDF is meant as a presentational format primarily, not as an editable
format. You may however get some good results with the following:

Is there a possibility of using Copy/Paste to get the text and images
into a OOo document and then export to PDF or use something like
doPDF to print to PDF.

There are also some free PDF editing software out there, but you
will have to use Google to find them.

I have XP/pro on one machine and use doPDF on it. I have tried it
with Acrobat Reader 9 and a PDF file. I was able to copy/paste the
text and the images into OOo and then print it back out edited my way.
It would be easier to do it with one of those free/trial PDF editors,
but I have not tried any on my laptops for a few years. I did not
need one, since I create all my PDF documents in OOo and something
like Inkscape.
